internationalizing a poco app?

Postby auscaster1 » 10 Jan 2010, 02:00

I am currently using Poco in my project and I have a concern about multi-language support which I would like to add some time in the future.

I noticed this has not been discussed yet at any length on the forums so I was hoping to hear peoples opinions / experiences on the best way to implement this with Poco, taking into consideration the obvious limitation of std::string used throughout.

Thanks guys.

See the TextEncoding and classes that derive from it. To work around std::string limitations, use UTF-8. If you target windows, see UnicodeConverter for conversions between UTF-8 and UTF-16.
