Poco devhelp book

Postby ofpeled » 03 Apr 2011, 15:07

I'm new to Poco, and first thing i tried is to get some help on functions etc'.
The online documentation is nice but the search is kinda... well none-existent.
I do see you can download the html version of the documentation.
Do you know how can i easily convert it to a devhelp book ?

I would love it if i could search the documentation on my devhelp just like libglib and others.

Ofer .

I struggled yesterday to create an index to the downloadable online help (a .devhelp xml file).
Using: /usr/share/doc/devhelp/tools/html2funcs.py
I was able to create a file, BUT it doesn't devide the pages into topics or "chapters" and it indexes member functions and operators without any relations to the class that they belong too.
The other tool that they give: /usr/share/doc/devhelp/tools/html2xml.py
encountred too many errors during the process, guess a new script is needed that is more compatible with C++ api.
If nobody else picks up the glove on this issue, i'll try rewriting it when i find the time.

I think there are scripts in the contrib folder that can help creating doxygen documentation for Poco.
Then you can configure doxygen to generate qHelp, chm of html help. They all have a search engine.

Thanks for the reply Gregoire,
Doxygen is nice but i rather use devhelp, cause i already am using it for other libraries.
