Update from Poco 1.3.3 to 1.3.6 No Log files anymore

Postby tmiesch » 31 Dec 2009, 14:07

I am using the poco library for my SmallMGC application, which should be in the future a open source softswitch.
I am using it under Linux

At the moment I have the issue that the log files are not created anymore
I am using the following properties file

Code: Select all

# This is a sample configuration file.

logging.loggers.root.channel  = splitter
logging.loggers.root.level = debug

logging.channels.splitter.class = SplitterChannel
logging.channels.splitter.channels = file, console

logging.channels.file.class = FileChannel
logging.channels.file.pattern = %Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S.%i [%p] %s: %t
logging.channels.file.path = ${application.baseName}.log
logging.channels.file.rotation = daily
logging.channels.file.archive = number
logging.channels.file.purgeCount = 5

logging.channels.console.class = ConsoleChannel
logging.channels.console.pattern = [%p] %s: %t

But there are no .log files created anymore.
What could be the cause for that?

Thanks
Thomas

There seems to be an invalid character in the line

Code: Select all

logging.loggers.root.channel  = splitter

after ".channel".

Other than that, the configuration works fine for me with 1.3.6. Also, there haven't been any changes in the Logging framework recently.

So I think I will need to rebuilt the libraries.
I have tested the exact same properties file and the version with older version generated the log file the newer not.
The difference is also with 1.3.3 I have only used thecore libraries and with 1.3.6 I have used the complete libraries but omitted some libaries (netssl and crypto and the mysql package)

Ok I have rebuilt the libraries.

But this was not the problem.
During adding the Configuration Database, I had decided to remove some unused code.
And there was a code part which wasn't unused, but was needed to read the properties file.

In the Application class in the intialize fuction I had removed the loadConfiguration call from the base Application class and therefore the properties weren't read anymore.

So this problem is solved

Thanks
Thomas
