Build Poco on Mingw

Postby lsten2000 » 16 Jan 2010, 01:21

Hi,

I could not find instructions for building POCO on MinGW. The README describes on how to build on MS Visual Studio, but not MinGW.

Is there any documentation on how to do it?

Cheers,

Laurence

Mingw is not officially supported, but there is a number of users that succesfully build POCO with it. Franky Braem's has some scripts available on GLUEScript project site.

Alex,

Thanks for the reply. I'll give GLUEScript a try.

Just a quick update. I was able to build POCO using MSYS and MinGW.

Before running make (MSYS make) I edited \build\config\MinGW and replaced:

SYSLIBS = -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/lib -liphlpapi -lws2_32 -lssl -lcrypto -lws2_32 -lgdi32
by
SYSLIBS = -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/lib -liphlpapi -lws2_32 -lws2_32 -lgdi32

(Removed -lssl and -lcrypto as pointed in http://pocoproject.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=683&p=2392&hilit=syslibs#p2392)

Now I'm playing with POCO and MinGW under Eclipse CDT and I'm happy with it!

Cheers,
