FTP beginDownload(...) should be more robust

Postby master666 » 19 Jan 2010, 21:00

Hi,

when beginDownload(...) is given a real path (including a file name), not just a file as argument, an exception is thrown.

Either the URI class should be capable of extracting a file name from a given path or beginDownload(...) should be able to accept a full path for purpose of convenience.

You can use the Poco::Path class to extract the filename from the path part of an URI.
For most convenience when downloading a file, use Poco::URIStreamOpener (after registering Poco::Net::FTPStreamFactory).
See the download sample in Net/samples for how this is done.
