How to determine file type on FTP server?

Hi,

when I obtain a directory listing from an FTP server, is there an easy way to figure out the file type (at least file or directory)?

Or do I have to parse the extended list?

You'll have to implement the parsing yourself, which is something that sucks big time, as there's no standardized format for FTP extended directory listings...
