Hard time with connection string

Postby Cyril » 28 Nov 2012, 22:11

Hello i just started experimentin with POCO DATA and i can
not connect to my sql server db wich is on the same pc that i am developing on.
The coonnection string that i am using is as follows:
Code: Select all
Session ses("ODBC" , "Data Source = 127.0.0.1,1433; Initial Catalog =dbname;Uid=usr;Pwd=pass")

When i debug my code i get a widow saying: program.exe has triggered a breakpoint.

I am developing under windows VS2010.

What have i forgoten in my connection string?

The database is MS sql server 2008.
I am under Win7 64bit.

No one is using POCO Data with ODBC to connect to MS Sql Server?

Sure we use it. There's even a full set of tests for SQL server. But the SQL Server connection string for a particular setup will differ based on the type of ODBC connection used, security settings etc. It is not really a POCO issue, ConnectionStrings.com is probably a better place to look for solution.

FWIW, probably the best route is to make ODBC DSN and connect through that. Then, if you must connect DSN-less, you can go from there and figure out what the correct DSN is.
