Reactor Echo Server

Postby RedMenace » 22 May 2013, 20:38

I was stress testing the reactor server example and i found the cpu usage to be 25% when the server was idle. Is this supposed to be normal for the reactor pattern or can this high usage be reduced when the server is idle. :?:

Could be select() call (or whatever it defaults to on your platform), but I'm just speculating.

thx. Solved the problem by adding IdleNotification and sleeping for 100ms in the callback function onIdle(const AutoPtr<IdleNotification>& pNf). :D
