POCO Data (1.5.2) support for nchar database format

Postby YoannBrenet » 25 Nov 2013, 13:13

Hi,

I am calling a stored procedure from SQLServer as follows

std::vector<Poco::Tuple<std::string, std::string, std::string> > _output;
std::string _input = "some text";
_DBSession << "{call sp_Test(?)}", Poco::Data::Keywords::into(_output), Poco::Data::Keywords::in(_input), Poco::Data::Keywords::now;

The stored procedure itself retrieves data which are of type nvarchar(50), nvarchar(50) and nchar(10).

I am getting the following error at runtime : "Error while executing query:Bad data format: Unsupported data type."

If I change the last field retrieved by the stored procedure to nvarchar(50) then it works fine. So it seems POCO Data doesn t support nchar() format.

Is that correct ? What data types are supported ? Is there a way to make that work without having to modify the database ?

Thanks,
Yoann

Hi,

Is this the right place to ask that type of questions ?
Is there a person I could contact directly or is there somewhere in the documentation something specifying what database types are supported ?

Thanks,
Yoann
