Sockets: Binding to multiple addresses/ports

Postby aderouineau » 30 Jun 2009, 05:11

Is there a special way of doing it with POCO, or do I have to use a combination of one socket per address per port + setReuseAddress() ?

Thanks.

AFAIK you cannot bind a socket to multiple addresses, so you have to use multiple sockets.

Might be an interesting feature to add to POCO then I guess.

When using an Acceptor, you could give it a collection of sockets instead of only one socket, and it would take care of everything. Sure it's not THAT much work to do it manually, but it would make it even better to use =)

PS: What's the backlog argument for some of the socket functions in POCO?
