lzma compression

Postby Dabos » 21 Nov 2011, 11:18

Actually POCO is missing LZMA compression/decompression. I don't know reasons for that (maybe memory usage wich can not always be good on embedded systems with few MBs of RAM memory or very small chache) but it has one of the best compression ratios.

All server/client applications will benefit from that reducing the load for servers wich can send data compressed at higher ratios at the small cost of increased decompression time for clients.

Maybe for embedded systems LZMA compressions can be just turned OFF when compiling?
