How to make bulk writes with odbc driver and POCO?

Postby AlexZH » 14 Mar 2013, 13:40

I tried stable release 1.4.6 and this example: http://pocoproject.org/blog/?p=113
At line
Code: Select all
session << "INSERT INTO Test VALUES (?)", use(ints, bulk), now;

I get 'bulk' is undeclared identifier.

I also tried development version 1.5.1, and I got message about incorrect arguments for 'use'.

Is bulk keyword deprecated (I found nothing about it in stable release)? Is there any working example fo bulk inserts?

It is not deprecated, it just does not exist in 1.4.x. Unless something got broken in recent development, it should work with 1.5.x. See SQLExecutor::doBulkPerformance

Thanks, I'll try.
By the way, what is the logic of versions for poco?
I saw bulk example posted for 1.3.1-2 versions. Current stable version 1.4.x doesn't have it, and in development 1.5.1 it appears again...

Bulk was not released in 1.3.x or 1.4.x.

1.5.x Data is incompatible with those earlier versions, most notably in the Poco::Data::Keywords namespace and many other features, bulk being one of them.
