Email channel for Logger

Postby aderouineau » 21 May 2009, 22:45

I've looked and there doesn't seem to be a way to send an email when errors occur in the program.

It would be nice to have such channel, where you could also set an option so the email is sent only when you ask it to (so that it doesn't send an email on EVERY error).

So you had started work on it already. When will it be in stable?

Also, it seems that it will send an email for every log entrey that is greater or equal to the threshold associated with that channel. Is that right?

There is no firm release date yet.

Not if you use filtering.

But that feature is not even in trunk, so light-years away from stable :/

Wait until 2063. In the meantime, the brave among use the Logging library in its current state (which works surprisingly well, for the most part, given that it is, um, lightyears away from stable ;-))
