Can I use POCO for Emails?

Postby evstevemd » 05 Jan 2012, 13:03

Hi can I use POCO for Accessing POP3/IMAP and Sending via SMTP for all major email providers(Gmail, hotmail, AOL, yahoo et al)? Is there a known issue (problem/missing feature)? I cannot see PostGreSQL in case I want to store messages in PGS server instead of SQLite3 or MySQL or ODBC
Thanks and happy new year!

Poco does not have any IMAP API, so you will need to use some other library for IMAP access. I have used chilkat libraries for mail in the past.

Hi Rakesh, chilkat is commercial AFAIK. I need something free open source. I will go for wxEmail until Poco is ready for IMAP
