Building 64 bit library on Solaris/OpenIndiana using GCC

Postby rakesh » 27 Jan 2012, 21:39

Hello,

I had to make some changes to the source and configuration shipped with the source distribution (not from subversion) to build release 1.4.3 and use on Solaris 11/OpenIndiana. I am using GCC 4.6.2 from OpenCSW as the compiler suite. The same instructions seem to hold for 1.4.2 as well. I have documented the steps I performed at http://sptci.com/docs/openindiana/poco.html.

A couple of fixes were much easier (the first two items) to fix than I originally did. It was a case of Poco not eating its own dog food and using the definitions from Platform.h. The error was a #if defined(sun) instead of #if defined(__sun).
