POCO C++ Libraries: Testimonials

Read below what some of our users are saying about the POCO C++ Libraries. Do you want to share your own opinion? You can do so in our forum.

Also, we have an incomplete list of organizations using POCO in the Wiki.

If you work in C++ and didn't hear about POCO, you are missing out on one of the most outstanding and important C++ libraries in years.

Eran Hammer-Lahav

I just wanted to say that I am hugely impressed by the breadth of functionality offered by POCO and the overall excellent quality of the implementation code, samples, and documentation. It has been a real pleasure developing my application, which I've now had up and running for several days processing tens of Gigabytes of data per day without a hiccup.

Caleb Epstein

This library is quite refreshing and a joy to use. Laid out very well, the documentation is consistent as the code base and functional in all the ways that C++ traditionally lacks. Many thanks go out to all the contributors of this library. I believe it was Bill Catambay that states, "The purpose of software engineering is to manage complexity, not to create it." Excellent work - this has even replaced some of my own personal toolbox code.

Chris Johnson

I came across POCO and I am very impressed with a broad coverage, quality of design, code and documentation. I found a lot of areas where POCO may be of a great help beyond what I was looking for or expected to find (shared library, networking, XML). I am yet to test it in different environments, but so far it looks really really good. Besides interfaces and coding habits are so close to what I consider good style that it is easy for me to read, comprehend and appreciate what I see. I feel that POCO may soon become a de-facto standard for multi-platform development.

Ilya Volvovski

I wanted to thank you for such a good library! It is almost everything I was looking for for my PhD project.

Murat Erdem

After evaluating POCO and a few other cross-platform libraries (ACE, Boost, and RogueWave), we decided to go with POCO as the foundation for our development (the richness of the content, the clarity of the code, and the documentation were very important factors!).
