Re: Using Poco and XCode

You may need to add a new custom build setting "USE_HEADERMAP" and set it's value to "NO"

Re: How to silently start process using Poco/Process or othe

I don't believe that feature is available in Poco Process. I had to modify the ProcessImpl::launchImpl() function in Foundation/Process_WIN32.cpp to suppress the cmd window from opening. STARTUPINFO startupInfo; startupInfo.dwFlags = STARTF_FORCEOFFFEEDBACK | STARTF_USESTDHANDLES | STARTF_USESHOWWIN...

Re: Events and threads

I use a simple Poco based MVC with Qt in my projects. It uses Poco::BasicEvent in the Model and a separate QThread in View to safely notify other QWidgets Not sure if it will help for what you're trying to do but I created a bare-bones version you can download at: http://www.hurleyworks.com/download...

Re: Poco::FileChannel crash

What is that ? No mc.exe on the system ? But how was it able to build the first time ? Is there a workaround ?

Here's some info that should help with that problem.

Util::Timer on Linux problem

Howdy, I'm using Poco 1.3.6p2-all as static libs and I'm hitting a linking problem on Linux32/64 when trying to use the Timer class in the Poco::Util library. Here's simple code that won't compile on my Linux machine running Ubuntu 9.10 64bit and gcc 4.4.1 The same code compiles and links without a ...

Re: Reading/Writing text files on Windows

Here's a bit of code that should help. -Steve std::string file("testfile.txt"); // write some text Poco::FileOutputStream fos(file, std::ios::binary); Poco::OutputLineEndingConverter out(fos, Poco::LineEnding::NEWLINE_CRLF); for( int i = 0; i < 10; i++ ) { out << NumberFormatter::format(i)...

SetCurrentDirectory?

Is there a way to set the current working directory in Poco? I see where you can get it with Path::current() but I can't seem to find a way to set it anywhere.

TIA,

Re: Tuples and Templates

I found the solution:
link

If you add "template" before "get()" , then gcc complies without error.
-Steve

^

Code: Select all

template
void func( T tuple )
{
tuple.template get();
}

Tuples and Templates

^

Code: Select all

template
void func( T tuple)
{
   tuple.get<0>();
}

Can anyone tell me why this won't compile on the Mac?
The error message is "expected primary-expression before ")" token.
Google gets a few hits but no solution that works for me.
Compiles fine with VC

Re: POCO 1.3.3 RC1 on Mac OSX 10.5

I've tried that but get compiler errors. I've tried making both SHARED and STATIC versions and one error common to both is:

/Xcode2.5/usr/bin/../libexec/gcc/powerpc-apple-darwin8/4.0.1/ld: can't locate file for: -lstdc++

I'm running on a G4 powerbook and the latest OSX 10.5.5
