Re: Dynamic::Var as key to std::map w/ C++11

Can't reproduce, with g++ 4.9.1: -std=c++11 -Wall -Wno-sign-compare -DPOCO_BUILD_HOST=ubuntu1504 -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=500 -D_REENTRANT -D_THREAD_SAFE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE -DPOCO_HAVE_FD_EPOLL -g -D_DEBUG -fPIC #include "Poco/Dynamic/Var.h" #include <map> int main() { std...

Re: JSONString

no particular reason, it was fixed later but apparently not entirely. It's best to fix Foundation code and use it in JSON to avoid duplication.

Re: Controlling requests in HTTPServer

I'm sorry, but your comments and proposals make no sense; yes, we are cross-platform and yes, we support 32 and 64-bit architectures; but we do not cater to our user's bugs such as crashing - if your application built on poco is crashing due to the bug in your code, then the problem is in the applic...

Re: Containers and basic class

you are missing some important points in these examples: - poco::icompare is case-insensitive comparison, which str1 == str2 with str1 and str2 being std::string does not provide, unless you use poco::istring - for file I/O, there's FileStream , which we only have because on windows std::fstream doe...

Re: Containers and basic class

We do not unnecessarily re-invent the wheel. There is std::string; use it. If you find it lacking, extend it . UTF-8 and std::string are important pillars of POCO and that won't change any time soon. As for STL containers, in addition to proverbial wheel reinventing, making everything thread-safe sl...

Re: Controlling requests in HTTPServer

According to this logic, there should be no threads at all because they may crash? While there are many downsides of threads, the problem here is crashing, not threads.
