RemoteSyslogChannel

Postby dinispaes » 29 Aug 2017, 23:17

Hello all!

I'm trying POCO's RemoteSyslogChannel and was able to make it work but I've some questions regarding the output it produced.

I got an output like this:

Code: Select all

<14>1 2017-08-29T20:21:44.432Z myserver myapp 28327 myclass msg

Question 1) Is there a way of configuring the timestamp format to use a local time instead of UTC? Although I personally prefer logs in UTC we may have a requirement to use local times.

Question 2) The log entry does not have a STRUCTURED-DATA item (which is fine) but, according to the RFC, I would expect a dash ("-") character to identify its absence after the MSGID ("myclass"). In the example above I would expect:

Code: Select all

<14>1 2017-08-29T20:21:44.432Z myserver myapp 28327 myclass - msg

Many thanks for your help.

Regards,

Dinis
