Roadmap Update

Filed under: Uncategorized by guenter at 12:11

I have just updated the Project Roadmap. The major change is that we’ll soon have a 1.4 release containing all the recently developed new stuff that does not quite fit into the 1.3.1 maintainance release (e.g., Event framework improvements, Data improvements, Async I/O). There will be a 1.3.1 bugfix release in the coming days, fixing the known bugs in 1.3.0. After that, we’ll immediately go to the 1.4.0 release, targetting a release timeframe for early July. Any comments on that?

  1. As far as Data goes, the latest is that I have stored procedures covered for the most part. Not everything went the way I expected it, partially because of some database limitations, partially because I could not overcome some errors (SQLServer – strings as stored procedure parameters, for example, explanation is commented in tests). I have also decided not to support blobs with stored procedures at this time – any new feature brings up subtle issues with different ODBC drivers, so it’s best to make small steps. I plan to deal with Unicode next week.
