Wiki/Forum Registration

Filed under: News by guenter at 11:04

Since upgrading the Tiki software to the latest release (due to the security issue posted earlier), the wiki and forum registration is unfortunately broken, so registering a new user does not work.

We are working on the issue with the Tiki developers and hope to have it fixed soon.

In the meantime, just reply to this post or send an email to poco at to have an account created for you.

  1. Hi Alex,
I am starting to use Poco in my recent project, just found XMLConfiguration::setXXX methods are not implemented yet. Do you have any plan for these implementation? or else I’ll have to turn to XmlLite. I really wish to have Poco as the only external dependency.

  2. Tom,

This was done by Guenter, so he is more appropriate person to answer your question. I’m not familiar with the details of this issue, but in case you or someone else has a good solution, POCO community welcomes all contributions. Otherwise, suggestions are always welcome but (in a non-commercial context) there is usually no guarantee when (and whether at all) they will be implemented.

  3. Tom,

currently, there are no plans for this (for the usual reason that we’re too busy doing other things ๐Ÿ˜‰ but this would make a good starter project for someone wanting to contribute to POCO (hint, hint).

  4. What an explicit hint! I had thought I could get everything simply by asking, esp. during this Christmas season. ๐Ÿ™‚

Just kidding. I’ll send back my changes when I’m done, so that it might be useful for others.

  5. There’s a rumor of Santa being busy working on the next release ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. I heard that rumor too. Also heard something about January as the release date.

  7. Then any rumor about the best practice of contributing code? Just paste them in the forum or send to any mail address?

  8. Not a rumor, a fact:

Summary: please read our Coding Styleguide and send your contributions either to poco at or to the mailing list.
